Twitter is a blank slate that you can fill with whatever content you like, just like an RSS, as programmers say, garbage in, garbage out. The 'right' people for me are people that can inspire me, that I can learn from, that are interested in similar memes, and want to share ideas, and i've never found any network that does that so well. The most important thing you can do to 'tune' your twitter experience is be selective over who you follow.
