about me - Rod Ebrahimi
Like you, I want to change the world.
I use technology to bring ideas to life.
This site is a blog for young professionals, entrepreneurs and advocates of socially responsible business interested in exploring new ideas and technologies.

I began working with Internet technologies in 1997 and have been applying these technologies in new, innovative ways ever since. This is the passion that gets me up in the morning and keeps me up all night.

Still curious?
While in high school, I interned at Kiva Software and Netscape Communications. This opportunity forced me to re-evaluate, albeit only temporarily, heading to college. After working for almost 2 years in Silicon Valley building Internet infrastructure for large scale e-commerce sites during the dot-com bubble, I returned to study Cognitive Science and Human-Computer Interaction at the University of California at San Diego. Before graduating, I also attended an academic program for non-business students at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
I am currently founding partner at Breakthrough Innovation Group (BIG). We help people build meaningful consumer Internet products and technologies. In 2005, I co-founded dotherightthing with Ryan Mickle. I am also an occasional speaker on topics relating to entrepreneurship, generation y and, of course, innovation.
Other things I enjoy and hope to do more of…
- forgo tradition to pursue challenges that spark passion
- share information about how to apply Internet technologies on a shoestring to solve real business and social problems
- work on building revolutionary products and services that have positive social impact
- adopt and implement bleeding edge technologies
- actively pursue all forms of culture shock
- embrace the thrills of success and failure in building entrepreneurial enterprise
- work with others to help them achieve “success”
- strive to do the right thing
- surround myself by people who consistently amaze me
